A Northeast Ohio native, Kira lives in Rocky River with her husband Ryan and two children, Michaelangelo and Luciana. Ryan manages several well-known family restaurants including Around the Corner (which also hosts The Christmas Corner Bar), Georgetown | Vosh, which are located in Lakewood. Kira is also a non-profit leader.

As a former substitute teacher, Kira improves justice by teaching from the bench. She also teaches Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses to her peers, and has participated in nineteen CLEs.  She has formerly traveled the state teaching other county prosecutor’s offices and agencies about domestic support obligations.

 Education & Legal 
 Accomplishments 

Kira received a Bachelor's degree in political science from Kent State University and a J.D. from the Cleveland State College of Law at Cleveland State University. 

 

Between 2016 and 2020, she and her team helped secure over $17.6 million in domestic support obligations for families and children of Cuyahoga County as an Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor. Kira received an honorable mention for the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office Child Support Unit Mission, Vision and Core Values Award. 

Kira served as Magistrate for the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Division from 2021 to 2024. She used the opportunity to adopt innovative policies that both promote stability and justice. She has created innovative practices to help people address outstanding support enforcement warrants in a way that takes stress off the legal system and allows defendants to move on with their lives.

 Service 

As a magistrate by day and nonprofit leader by night, Kira is committed and dedicated to our communities. She has previously served on the Board of the Directors for the Citizens Committee for the Lakewood Animal Shelter (CCLAS) and has served on the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Cleveland (JLC). She previously served a full term on the Board of Directors for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA), and currently serves on the Board for the The Giving Tree Project, Board for the Rocky River Soccer Organization, Board for Rocky River Bucs Baseball and she was recently appointed to the Board of Open Doors Academy. Kira also coaches youth travel soccer. 

 

Kira is an active member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, having previously served as the Bar Association’s Vice Chair of the Government Attorneys Section, and co-leads the Bar Association’s Racial Equity and Law Initiative.
